NA, Senate condemn Indian brutalities in Held Kashmir

ISLAMABAD: The Senate and National Assembly on Monday passed separate resolutions to condemn Indian atrocities in Held Kashmir. In the National Assembly, Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani said that more efforts should be made to raise the Kashmir issue in the international community. “Kashmir is an important issue and there is a need to sensitise the international community on human rights violation in occupied Kashmir,” he said. Earlier, Fazlur Rehman had moved a motion to discuss the human rights situation in IHK in the assembly. Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dr Babar Awan and Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan termed Kashmir Pakistan’s ‘jugular vein’ and supported to move the motion. The Senate resolution, moved by Waseem Sajjad, stated that more than 100 innocent Kashmiris had been killed by Indian security forces in the valley. Through the resolution, the Upper House urged the government to raise the Kashmir issue at all international forums, including the United Nations. The resolution also urged the international community to take notice of the Kashmir situation. staff report/app
