President thanks China for additional $200m assistance for flood victims
ISLAMABAD, Sep 23 (APP): President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday thanked Premier Wen Jiabao,Chinese Government and people for their generous assistance of additional US $200 million for the flood affected people.Spokesperson to the President Farhatullah Babar said that the President while appreciating the gesture said that the additional assistance was yet another demonstration of the strong bonds between China and Pakistan and how the Chinese leaders and people cared for the people of Pakistan.It may be recalled that after the Attabad incident and recent floods, President Zardari had urged the Chinese leadership for assistance in the relief and rehabilitation of the stranded population.The Chinese government also provided medical, food and other supplies to the affected people of Gilgit-Baltistan and the flood victims in other areas of Pakistan.
