Govt has requested SC to defer hearing of NRO case; Gilani
ISLAMABAD, Sep 27 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Monday said the government had requested the Supreme Court to defer the hearing of the NRO implementation case till the decision on it’s review appeal. “The President’s case is already under review. It would be better if the decision comes first,” the Prime Minister told mediapersons after his visit to the Railway Ministry.
When asked whether the government will write letter to the Swiss Courts, Gilani said the matter was subjudice and he did not want to comment on it.
The Prime Minister rejected the impression that government’s days were numbered and said “rumour-mongers would be disappointed.”
“The government will stay in power and will complete its five-year term,” he said, adding that the policy of reconciliation with other political parties would continue.
Gilani said he had already asked the NRO beneficiaries to resign to avoid embarrassment.
He said he had not received the list of NRO beneficiaries yet and would share it with the media as soon as he receives it.
