Nisar rejects PM’s proposals for new NAB chairman
LAHORE: Opposition leader in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has rejected the names recommended by Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani for the post of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman, a private TV channel reported on Tuesday. Talking to journalists outside the Parliament House in Islamabad, Khan said that, in his letter to Gilani, he stated that both the proposed names for the said post had been controversial, and his party opposed the recommendations altogether. The post had been lying vacant since NAB former chairman Naveed Ahsan’s resignation, and the Supreme Court had ordered to fill the post within the next few days. The opposition leader rejected the names because they were not impartial and he demanded neutral names for the post, the channel reported. daily times monitor
