India only concerned about talking about its interests: ministry

ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Ministry told the Lower House on Wednesday that India was only concerned about talking of its areas of interest during the foreign minister-level meeting in July this year. To a question by Marvi Memon, the ministry submitted, “At the July meeting, India was willing to move on areas of its interests – trade and commerce, friendly exchanges, people-to-people contact, but not keen on areas of interest to Pakistan – Kashmir, Siachen, peace and Security.” It added that Pakistan’s approach was to build on the progress achieved during the last few years under the composite dialogue process. “Pakistan wishes to resolve all outstanding issues peacefully and in a just manner. We continue to advocate for the resumption of the composite dialogue process for resolution of all outstanding issues with India, including meetings on Kashmir, peace and security and Siachen,” it added. staff report
