1,555 Dengue cases reported in Punjab
LAHORE: Dengue fever in Lahore has now turned into a pandemic, Geo News reported. Everyday several new cases are being reported and the Chief Secretary Punjab has directed the health department to present a report to him daily.
According to the health department, 1,555 Dengue cases have been reported in Punjab, with 1,500 believed to be in Lahore. At least two people have been killed due to the virus in Lahore, and people have to turn to private hospitals for treatment because there is no room left in government hospitals.
Residents of several areas have complained that fumigation is not being carried out, while the health department claimed that the fumigation was stopped due to monsoon rains.
