Over dozen, including 4 ‘target killers’, held

KARACHI: Rangers and police arrested over a dozen suspects, including four alleged target killers, during search operation in different parts of the city on Sunday.

Special Investigation Unit (SIU) claimed to have arrested an alleged target killer. Officials said that the suspect was identified as Shahzoor Yousuf who confessed to kill by slaughtering five people thorough a sharp blade.

He was arrested from a house in Lines Area. An SIU official claimed to have recovered a rifle and a pistol from the suspect’s custody. Another alleged target killer was identified as Arshad Baloch who was arrested from Sharah-e-Noor Jehan. Police officials said that the suspect was involved in the murder of a person Riaz. In another raid, Rangers apprehended two suspects who were identified as Shakeel and Asif on account of target killing from a house in Gulistan-e-Jauhar.

However, over a half dozen suspects were apprehended during a search operation by Rangers in Bakra Piri in Lyari and Pak Colony’s Jahanabad and their surrounding areas.

Anti Violent Crime Cell claimed to have apprehended an alleged extortionist during a raid in New Town. Official sources said that the accused Shahid was involved in extortion cases and three kalashnikovs, two rifles and 1,000 bullets were also recovered from his possession.
