Army to help govt pacify Karachi
RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Army Staff, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani chaired the Corp Commanders conference, Geo News reported.There was no official statement after the conference but according to sources it was decided that the army would work with civilian institutions to establish peace in Karachi.
Sources add that DG ISI briefed the conference about the arrests of Al-Qaeda operative Younis Al Mauritania and his accomplices.
The meeting also decided that Pak-US cooperation would continue in the fight against terrorism.
