Haroon urges UN to launch appeal for flood help
NEW YORK: Pakistani representative to the United Nations Hussain Haroon met UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and urged the United Nations to launch an international appeal for humanitarian assistance to the flood victims in Pakistan.During the meeting, Hussain Haroon briefed UN Chief about the situation of flood-hit areas in the country.
Ban expressed grieve over the devastation floods that hit Sindh province.
It is pertinent to mention here that UN has not yet officially appealed to the International Community for humanitarian assistance, however the assessment reports prepared by UN over floods have been sent to headquarters.
