Karachi limps back to normalcy after rains

KARACHI: After receiving heavy rain during the last two days, life limped back to normalcy in the metropolis, Geo News reported.

Public transport had resumed in the city and a large number of people returned to work. However, water was still accumulated in several areas of the city. According to the DCO Karachi, major arteries of the city which were blocked for 24 hours had been cleared. The DCO added that the city would continue to face drainage issues until encroachments on drains existed.

Water also entered homes including 'Wazir Mansion', the residence of Quaid-e-Azam. Reports received from several areas indicated that dirty water had mixed with clean water in underground tanks causing panic amongst residents.
