Nation offers special prayers for flood victims, dengue patients

ISLAMABAD/KARACHI/ LAHORE: The nation offered special prayers on Wednesday after Zuhr prayers throughout the country for flood victims in Sindh and other parts of the country besides early recovery of the dengue patients.
President Asif Zardari, in a message from London, on Tuesday, appealed to the people and all political parties to offer special prayers on Wednesday after Zuhr prayers for flood victims in Sindh and other parts of the country. In this connection, special prayers were offered at the mosque of Presidency after Zuhr prayers, which were especially attended by acting president Farooq H Naik, National Assembly Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi, Special Secretary to President Salman Farooqui, Spokesperson to the President Farhatullah Babar, members of parliament and staff of the President House.
Imam of the mosque sought blessings of Allah (The Almighty) for the alleviation of sufferings of people who had been suffering from unprecedented rains in Sindh and other parts of the country.
Special prayers were also offered for the early recovery of dengue patients in Punjab and other parts of the country on the occasion. Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani offered special prayers seeking Almighty Allah’s blessings for people affected by massive floods and the dengue fever.
The prime minister, along with Pakistan Muslim League-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Minister for Railways Ghulam Ahmad Bilour and others, prayed at the Prime Minister House for those affected by natural calamities. The prayer leader offered ‘dua’ seeking Almighty Allah’s help for saving people from the adversities of floods and dengue fever. Minister for Interior, Rehman Malik, offered special prayers to seek Allah Almighty’s blessings for people affected by massive floods and dengue fever.
He prayed for those affected by natural calamities after Zuhr prayers held at Faisal Mosque.
Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad and other luminaries sought mercy of Allah Almighty against the natural disaster that hit different parts of the country, particularly Sindh, in the form of heavy rains and floods.
Special prayers were offered after Namaz e Zuhr prayers at the Governor House in Karachi and the participants prayed for eternal peace for people who lost their lives in the province, including Karachi, Badin, Tando Allah Yar, Shaheed Benazirabad, Tharparkar and other areas during rains.
The governor and others also prayed to Allah Almighty to help proper rehabilitation of the flood victims. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, former federal minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, office bearers and members of the PPP and other organisations offered Namaz-e-Toba at Jamia Mosque of the CM House.
Provincial Ministers, Muhammad Sajid Jokhio, Haji Muzaffar Shujra, Engineer Rafiq, Political Coordinator to CM Muhammad Siddique Abu Bhai, Special Assistant to CM Muhammad Ismail Daheri, Imtiaz Mallah also joined the CM in the prayers.
Pakistan People’s party (PPP) activists offered special prayers for flood and dengue victims on Wednesday on appeal of the president in Lahore.
PPP zonal offices in the provincial capital, like other parts of the city, arranged ritual services at their offices.
Major prayer gathering was arranged at the Governor’s House where special dua was offered to seek the blessings of Almighty Allah against the epidemic of dengue and devastation of floods in Sindh. staff report/app
