JSQM's Bashir Qureshi sent to jail on judicial remand


KARACHI: A judicial magistrate has sent Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) Chairman Bashir Khan Qureshi to jail on a four day judicial remand, Geo News reported.

Qureshi has been summoned by the judicial magistrate on September 20 while the case against one of the co-accused Sheraz Ahmad has been dismissed.

Speaking to media Qureshi said Interior Minister Rehman Malik was a liar who was only sheltering terrorists.

On Thursday, the JSQM Chief was booked by the police after he was detained by the Rangers for allegedly possessing illegal weapons.

Tension followed in Malir Town and shops were immediately closed in the area after his arrest.

Shutter down strikes and protests were taking place in several cities of Sindh on Friday against his arrest.
