Haqqanis not in Pakistan: MalikISLAMABAD: I assured Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Robert Mueller that the Haqqanis are not on the Pakistani side, but if there was any intelligence, which was provided by the US, we would definitely take suitable action, Interior Minister Rehman Malik said on Wednesday. “The Haqqanis are the product of the Soviet Union and the Afghan war, and we were partners and they are sons of the soil,” Malik told reporters after a meeting with Mueller. The FBI director is visiting Pakistan as tensions between two countries spike over US demands that Islamabad crack down on Afghan terrorists it says get shelter in Pakistan. agencies
