Kayani for joint investigation into cross-border attacksISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani discussed military relations with top US military commander General James Mattis and demanded a joint investigation into cross-border attacks on Pakistan from Afghanistan, a private TV channel reported on Saturday. The security situation in North Waziristan near the Pak-Afghan border was also discussed. General Mattis, head of US Central Command, arrived on Friday, a US embassy spokesman said. According to sources, Kayani protested against the recent attacks from Afghanistan in Pakistan and demanded that these be stopped.
