Priorities set by the government hurt democracy: Nawaz

ISLAMABAD: PML-N President Nawaz Sharif said Friday that priorities set by the present government hurt democracy, Geo News reported.

Sharif briefed the media about the points he raised during Thursday’s All Parties Conference (APC). Flanked by party leaders he said if parliamentary resolutions were implemented then the country would not be in this position.

Stating that the country would be united in the face of any external threat Sharif said it was time that we did some “soul searching and started asking tough questions”. Sharif added that it was naive to think that there was no truth to accusations being levelled against Pakistan.

Speaking on Pakistan’s economic dependence Sharif said this was enslaving the country to foreign powers.

The PML-N chief said it was impossible for one party to solve the problems being faced by the country and that a joint effort would be required.

Sharif added that implementing resolutions passed during the APC would be a test for the government.
