Cabinet approves anti-terrorism amendment bill
ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet has approved the anti-terrorism amendment bill.
According to the bill those individuals providing financial assistance to terrorists can be sentenced for criminal activity. The bank accounts of individuals who are in contact with terrorists can also be seized.
The bill further states that action can not only be taken against banned outfits but also those people who are in contact with them.
The cabinet also gave approval in principal to an increase in the number of minority seats in the national and provincial assemblies. The number of minority seats will increase by four in the National Assembly.
Meanwhile a bill which makes electricity theft punishable by law was also approved. According to this bill electricity thieves can be sentenced to six months in prison and fined up to Rs1 million.
