Karachi showers trip 80 feeders
KARACHI: Weather turned pleasant as different parts of the mega-metropolis here received rains, while power supply was interrupted in several areas as 60 feeders out of 1300 tripped, Geo News reported.
Met department forecast intermittent rains during 24 hours.
Earlier, the city was witnessing one of the worst heat, humid and suffocating climate, when the light and heavy showers in the city brought great relief to the citizens. University Road, Airport, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Malir, Defence and other areas of the city were lashed by heavy rains.
Traffics on the main arteries of the city like Sharah-e-Faisal, M. A. Jinnah Road and others witnessed logjam.
On the other hand, power supply to different areas of the city was also interrupted. KESC spokesman said that 80out of 1300 feeders were tripped due to showers, which affected only 6 percent areas of the city.
