Uniform system will be implemented across Sindh: Governor

KARACHI: Governor Sindh Dr Ishart–ul-Ebad said that the government is in the process of implementing a uniform system across Sindh, Geo News reported Wednesday.

While talking exclusively to Geo News, Governor Sindh Ishart-ul-Ebad told that currently two systems are working parallel in the province, that is, local body system and commissionerate system. But soon the government will approve a uniform system for the entire province.

He further said that the new structure will empower the public representatives and will help them to solve the problems of general public in a better way.

Governor Ishart-ul-Ebad told that it has been proposed to give the major cities a status of metropolitan corporation and under the new local body system, there are 18 towns in Karachi.

He told that both the leading political parties of Sindh have consensus over the local body system and the matters are progressing in the right direction. Therefore, it is likely that the public will soon hear a good news, he added.

Governor Sindh told that a draft will be prepared by the legal experts based on the agreement between the two parties and later the ordinance will be released.

Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad on Tuesday promulgated the Sindh Civil Servants (Amendment) Ordinance 2012 with immediate effect.

The Ordinance provides to safeguard the interest of the employees of the Provincial Government and to utilize the services of competent civil servants of Federal Government in the affairs of the province.
