Balochistan case: SC issues interim order, summons federal secretaries

QUETTA: The Supreme Court has issued an interim order in the Balochistan Law and Order case declaring the provincial government and FC report relating to the missing persons unsatisfactory.

The Supreme Court was hearing the Balochistan law and order case at its Quetta Registry.

Chief Justice in his remarks said that persons with arms were freely roaming about on Raisani Road. The court in its interim order has summoned the interior and defence secretaries again on Saturday to appear before the court. Dera Bugti FC Commandant has also been summoned.

A three-member bench headed by CJ was hearing the case here, when IG FC Major General Obaidullah Khan also appeared before the court.

During proceedings Chief Justice Chaudhry remarked that incidents of kidnapping for ransom were still continuing, target killing hasn’t stopped and the spate of people going missing persists which showed that the result was zero.

Justice Jawwad Khawja remarked that two/three cases were such where the dignity of the institutions could get impaired.

At this juncture, the chief secretary sought time to show some positive results.

CJ in his remarks told the civil as well as the security authorities to go and disarm the people loitering about freely.
