Allies to be taken into confidence on SPLGO: Memon
KARACHI: Provincial Information Minister Sharjeel Memon has said that several new things have been introduced in the Sindh Peoples Local Government Ordinance (SPLGO) 2012, adding that it contains space to form more metropolitan corporations.
Talking to media following the promulgation of SPLGO 2012 at Governor House, Memon said that other ruling coalition partners would be taken into confidence on the new ordinance.
The minister said that the MQM Chief Altaf Hussain had asked to bring new local bodies system.
The new ordinance will help rural and urban population of Sindh in bringing them closer, he added.
Meanwhile, MQM leader Raza Haroon on the occasion giving credit to PPP and his party said that equal facilities would be provided to the dwellers of Sindh under the new system.
"This is the first ever local government system which is made by any democratic government in the country", he added.
