PIA flight cleared as bomb threat proves hoax
LAHORE: A bomb scare, which forced a Pakistan International Airline (PIA) Karachi-bound flight to be taken to the isolated bay for a thorough searching turned out to be a false alarm, Geo News reported.
According to sources the Allama Iqbal International Airport authorities had to go through all the hassle after an anonymous caller claimed there was a bomb on board PIA Lahore-Karachi flight PK-303, which could go off anytime.
Airport rescue teams along with bomb defusing experts after a painstaking search cleared the plane.
The plane later flew to its destination with a delay of more than two hours.
Investigation to trace the unknown phone caller as well as the motive behind this hoax was underway.
