Raja to attend WEF’s annual meeting in China

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf would leave today (Monday) for China on a four-day official visit to represent the country at the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) sixth Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2012.

The Forum’s meeting, also known as the Summer Davos, is to be held in China’s port city Tianjin, from September 11-13. Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao would open the meeting.

Raja would also attend several sessions of the WEF and would discuss the geopolitical and economic matters affecting the South Asia region. He would also hold a bilateral meeting with Jiabao. On the sidelines, the prime minister would meet several world leaders and prominent figures of business community.

The WEF’s New Champions meeting is to be led by forum’s growing global growth companies as well as communities of technology pioneers, young global leaders, global shapers and young scientists. app
