Monsoon continues to wreak havoc across countryKARACHI: Monsoon rains are continuing across the country while scenes of devastation can be witnessed in several areas Tuesday, Geo News reported.
The military is engaged in the rescue operation in Kashmore while flooding has paralysed life in Naseerabad and Jafarabad. Jacobabad received record breaking rains yesterday that caused several deaths in rain-related incidents.
Power supply has also been disrupted in the rain-affected districts for the past three days while railway service has also been suspended in several areas due to flooding of tracks.
Provincial advisor to Chief Minister on relief Haleem Adil Sheikh has reached Sukkur with relief goods.
Rainwater has inundated several villages in Aubaro while Badin is still receiving heavy downpour.
Two bodies were recovered who drowned in flood water while it also swept away a child in Lal Garh.
According to Met Office, monsoon low lies over eastern Sindh is gradually weakening and monsoon currents are penetrating into southern parts of the country. Seasonal low lies over Northeast Balochistan and a westerly trough is passing over Kashmir.
During next 24 hours, scattered rain/thundershower with isolated heavy falls is expected in Sindh and Eastern Balochistan, while isolated rain/thundershower is likely in Punjab, KP, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
The weather of Abbottabad, DI Khan, Bannu, Mardan, Peshawar and Parachinar will remain partly cloudy with chances of rain/thundershowers during next 24 hours.
Scattered rain/thundershower is expected in Sindh and Eastern Balochistan, while isolated rain/thundershower is likely in Punjab, KP, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during next 48 hours.
Widespread rain/thundershower with heavy falls occurred in southern Punjab and Sindh, while scattered rain/thundershowers occurred in upper Punjab, KP, Kashmir and eastern Balochistan in last 24 hours.
Maximum rain was received by Jacobabad 144milimeter followed by Rahim Yar Khan 96mm, Larkana 58, Sibbi, 57, Rohri 49, Sukkur 36, Mohenjodaro 19, Kakul and Mithi 16, Dir 15, Zhob & Balakot 13, Khuzdar 12, Muzaffarabad 11, Parachinar & Badin 10, Shaheed Benazirabad 09, T.T Singh & Kalat 07, Garidupatta 06, Barkhan , Khanpur and Dadu 05, D.G Khan & Quetta 04, Pdidan 03, Skardu & Thatta 02 mm in last 24 hours. Maximum temperatures recorded at Turbat 43 degree centigrade and pollen count remained 171 per cubic meter.
