Pakistan, Russia resolve to combat terrorism, drug trafficking

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Russia on Monday found themselves on the same page in connection to combating terrorism and drug trafficking.
This observation came forth in the second session of the Pakistan-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission (IGC) on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation. The commission was co-chaired by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Nawabzada Malik Amad Khan and Russian Minister of Sports Vitaly Mutko. Malik highlighted that Pakistan and Russia had turned a new page in bilateral relations. There was greater understanding and convergence of views on important political and security issues, including regional stability and combating terrorism and drug trafficking. Malik also thanked Russia for supporting Pakistan’s candidature for full membership of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).
