KARACHI: The owners of the ill-fated factory of Baldia Town have been shifted to an undisclosed location under protective bail to ensure their safety. The owners of the factory, Abdul Aziz, Arshad Bhaila and Shahid Bhaila, appeared in SITE B Police Station to record their statements. While talking to the media at the police station, Arshad Bhaila claimed that the fire broke out in the warehouse and he himself had called the fire brigade, which arrived about an hour and a half late. A new development in the case is a letter written to State Bank of Pakistan to freeze the accounts of the accused factory owners to halt a probable transaction of Rs 500 million in its tracks. Earlier, the Sindh High Court (SHC) Larkana Bench had granted the accused Rs 500, 000 each protective bail for eight days (until 21 September). Investigations encompassing different angles are currently underway while the owners of the factory face murder charges under Section 302 of the penal code. According to SP (Investigation) West Saqib Sultan police also conducted raids and arrested more than 10 workers, including the security guard, for investigation. SSP West Amir Farooqui said that police are investigating those who ordered to close the doors of the factory.
