Pakistan should react strongly to film: Shujaat
LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Saturday said the government should react strongly to the anti-Islam film.
In a statement, Shujaat termed reaction of Muslims across the globe natural and said there could be no compromise on blasphemy of Prophet (PBUH) and the holy Quran by Western extremists, adding that all Muslim governments should adopt unanimous strategy.
The PML-Q senator expressed sorrow and grief over the blasphemous act and said Pakistan was created in the name of Islam and the government should react strongly against the anti-Islam film. Shujaat said YouTube should immediately be stopped throughout the country and the Foreign Ministry should summon the US ambassador and lodge a strong protest.
Shujaat said the US and YouTube officials should have immediately apologised to Muslims. He said the US government should take action against the filmmaker. He said, “No Muslim can compromise on blasphemy against the holy Quran and Prophet (PBUH). Not only us but our children are ready to lay their lives for the dignity and honour of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).” Shujaat said the government should play a vital role in developing unanimous strategy for the Muslim world in this regard. pr
