Ahmadinejad, Manmohan condole deaths in fire incidents

ISLAMABAD: Iranian president and Indian prime minister conveyed their condolence to their Pakistani counterparts on the tragic loss of lives in fire incidents in Karachi and Lahore.

Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh sent a condolence message to Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf expressing his condolences on the tragic loss of lives in fire incidents in Karachi and Lahore.

The letter read, “I was deeply saddened to learn of the loss of lives in the fire accidents in Karachi and Lahore on September 11. On behalf of the government and the people of India, and on my own behalf, I convey our deepest condolences to the families of the victims of the two tragedies. May the Almighty give the bereaved the strength to withstand this irreparable loss. I would also like to take this opportunity to wish the injured in the accidents early recovery.”

Meanwhile, Iranian President Dr Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Saturday telephoned President Asif Ali Zardari. He condoled, on behalf of government and people of Iran, as well as on his own behalf, the loss of precious lives due to fire incidents in Lahore and Karachi.

The Iranian president said that his condolences be conveyed to the members of the bereaved families and said that the people of Iran were with their Pakistani brethren in this hour. He also expressed sympathies with the affected people.

President Zardari thanked his Iranian counterpart, on his own behalf and on behalf of people of the country, for the condolences and sympathies. pr
