Karachi Fire: Badlia town factory owners accounts to be frozen

KARACHI: The accounts of the owners of the Baldia Town garment factory which caught fire resulting in the death of over 260 workers have been ordered to be frozen.

A petition requesting the accounts to be frozen was submitted by the investigation officer Inspector Zafar Iqbal in the court of Judical Magistrate Sohail Mashoori.

The petition stated that the owners of the factory could transfer their accounts to a foreign country and flee from Pakistan.

The court on the petition of the investigating officer issued orders for the State Bank and other concerned banks to freeze the accounts of Abdul Aziz, Shahid and Arshad Bhaila.

The State Bank said Monday that after receiving the orders of the court, banks had been directed to freeze the accounts.
