Anti-Islam film protests continue across Pakistan

KARACHI: Demonstrators part of a Sunni Tehreek (ST) rally in protest of the anti-Islam film staged a sit-in near the Jinnah Bridge in the West Wharf area of the metropolis. The protest in Karachi was among several held against the anti-Islam film throughout Pakistan on Tuesday.

Protests were also held in other cities of Sindh including Sukkur, Jacobabad and Mirpur Khas.

In Peshawar, police used tear gas to deter protesters from making their way towards the US consulate.

In Dera Ismail Khan, All Students Organisation protested outside the press club and staged a demonstration. They also chanted slogans and strongly condemned the movie.

Students of Bahauddin Zakariya University protested in Multan while All Parties also took out a rally in Tank. Protest demonstrations were also held near the US consulate in Lahore.

Various political and religious parties along with students federations also staged protests in Toba Tek Singh, Mianwali, Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Umer Kot and many areas across the country.
