SHC summons experts in Australian sheep matter
KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) has summoned experts from Islamabad on Saturday with reports and documents in relation with a petition to stop culling of Australian sheep.
On the matter of culling of the Australian sheep the council of the importer, Adnan Memon Advocate brought Australian experts to SHC to press his stance that scabby mouth disease was common amongst cattle the world over which is not harmful to human health.
He said that the medical samples sent to Islamabad did not comprise of cell, however if the presence of a disease is proved in the sheep they should be destroyed.
The court has summoned Commissioner Animal Husbandry Islamabad and veterinary research laboratories Islamabad Dr.Qurban Ali and other experts along with supporting reports and documents. The court ordered that the notice should be issued to the experts through electronic media.
The SHC has also directed Australian doctor along with the certificate he issued to the Bahrain government regarding the fitness of the sheep.
