World community disappointed Muslims over anti-Islam film: Shahbaz

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that millions of Muslims world over have been dejected by the attitude of the international community over the issue of sacrilegious film.

In a statement issued here on Saturday, Shahbaz said no law or code of conduct of the world allowed hurting the sentiments of crores of people in the name of freedom of expression, nor did it allow disgracing beliefs of other communities.

The chief minister said that by expressing their strong emotions against this blasphemous film, the Muslims of the world especially Pakistanis had proved beyond doubt their love and affection of Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him).

Shahbaz said that he honestly felt that the federal government had not played its effective role on the issue.

He said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should summon a meeting of ambassadors of Islamic countries in Islamabad over this serious issue and chalk out a unified course of action to condemn such events.

Shahbaz said that vandalism and hooliganism displayed by some nefarious elements during the Friday’s processions were highly condemnable.
