Govt showing hypocrisy over drone attacks: Imran

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman, Imran Khan on Wednesday accused the government of hypocrisy, saying on one hand it condemns drone attacks and on the other it is working in collusion with the US.

"The investigative report of the American university has proved that 90 percent of the victims falling prey to drone strikes are innocents," Imran Khan observed while talking to media persons here.

He said he wished one day President Asif Ali Zardari would also address the Pakistani nation, derogatorily pointing at President Zardari's speech at the United Nations.

"The US could not even save Shah Iran and Pervez Musharraf; so how will it protect Asif Zardari?" he wondered.

The PTI Chief regretted that the people belonging to the elite class avoid paying tax while the poor is being persecuted through price hike and demanded of the government to slash the prices of petrol and diesel.

He said people joining the PTI were not asking for any particular positions; 'they are only coming in its folds on ideological grounds'. The party will strengthen further in the next three-four months, he believed.

Imran Khan said the entries into and exits from his party will not make any difference.
