QUETTA: The grand political jirga organized by Jamat-e-Islami (JI) here has called for setting up a high powered national commission with a view to resolve the issues of Balochistan and redressal of the province's deprivations.

Presided over by JI's General Secretary Liaquat Baloch, the grand jirga was attended by Balochistan's prominent political and tribal figures.

In their address, Liaquat Baloch, Ayaz Jogezai, Amir JUI (Ideological) Maulana Asmatullah, National Party's Dr Abdul Malik Baloch, Balochistan National Party's Ghulam Nabi Marri and others described the situation in Balochistan as worrisome.
