Linking Mengal’s points to Mujeeb formula inappropriate, says MalikISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Friday said it was inappropriate to link the six points of Sardar Akhtar Mengal to the formula of Sheikh Mujeebur Rehman. Talking to reporters outside the Parliament House, the minister said that on the advice of President Asif Zardari the government ended all cases against Akhtar Mengal and his colleagues and removed their names from the Exit Control List. “We hope that Akhtar Mengal will not give statements against Pakistan,” Malik said. The minister requested security forces not to take the Balochistan problem to the point of no return. Malik said that of the 201 people arrested during demonstrations against the anti-Islam film, 120 were Afghan nationals. The minister said the government would ensure security of the Diplomatic Enclave and diplomats and it would not allow anyone to disrupt peace. app
