National security comes before everything for this government: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister, Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif, Monday said that national security was the top most priority of the present government and all resources would be utilized to ensure it.

He said this while chairing a high-level meeting held here to review the overall security situation of the country.

The meeting discussed issues pertaining to national security including the internal as well as external threats.

The Prime Minister further said that all political forces must rise to the occasion so that national consensus was evolved to address the problems facing the country.

He said that a broad-based national consensus among all stakeholders would surely enable the government to find enduring solution to the issues at hand.

Minister for Interior, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Chief of the Army Staff, Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Special Assistant to the PM, Tariq Fatemi, and Director General ISI, Lt. Gen. Muhammad Zaheer-ul-Islam attended the meeting.
