PPP and MQM will be represented during federal cabinet meeting
ISLAMABAD: The two major political parties in Karachi, Muttahaida Quami Movement (MQM) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will be represented during the federal cabinet session on Wednesday.
According to sources, the PPP will be represented by Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad would represent the MQM.
Earlier, MQM announced that the invitation extended to Dr Farooq Sattar to attend the meeting had been withdrawn and the PML-N provincial leadership had called an All Parties Conference.
MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar had been invited to attend the session on directives of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. It was expected that the federal cabinet would hear the stance of the MQM seeking the deployment of army in Karachi.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is in Karachi on a two-day visit and will chair the federal cabinet session on Wednesday.
