MQM not to participate in President’s farewell dinner
KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has rejected to participate in the farewell dinner, being hosted in honour of President Asif Ali Zardari today (Wednesday), Geo News reported.
This was stated by MQM leader Tahir Mashhadi here. He said all the party MPs were in Karachi, therefore, they cannot participate in the farewell dinner.
Senate and National Assembly opposition leaders are hosting a farewell dinner in honour of President Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday night.
Sources said that all members of various opposition parties in the parliament except Muttahida Qaumi Movemnet (MQM) had been invited to this farewell dinner hosted by NA opposition leader Syed Khurshid Shah and Senate opposition leader Senator Aitzaz Ahsan.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf, Jamaat-e-Islami, Pakistan Muslim League-Q, Balochistan National Party-Awami and Awami National Party have been extended invitations to this dinner, sources said.
Former PPP prime ministers, Yousuf Raza Gilani and Raja Pervaiz Ashraf have also been ignored in this connection.
