Mamnoon Hussain takes oath as President of Pakistan
ISLAMABAD: Mamnoon Hussain on Monday took oath as the 12th President of Pakistan at a ceremony held at the President House.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry administered oath to Hussain.
The ceremony was attended by PPP leader and former president Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Chief of the Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani, Joint Chief of Staff Committee General Khalid Shamim, former prime ministers Yousuf Raza Gilani, Raja Pervez Ashraf, senior politicians and bureaucrats.
The seventy-three year old Mamnoon Hussain is a businessman turned politician. He was born in Agra in 1940 and came with his family to Karachi after 1947. He studied at the Institute of Business Administration in Karachi.
Mamnoon Hussain remained Governor of Sindh from 19th June‚ 1999 to 12th October 1999.
