No differences with army: govt
* Rashid says APC remained successful
* Imran Khan gave positive suggestions regarding war on terror
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rasheed on Monday ruled out the impression that Pakistan Army and government have different policies and said that both are on same page.
Rasheed said that the All-Parties Conference (APC) remained successful as all the political stakeholders agreed on holding dialogue with the Taliban to rid the country of the menace of terrorism and extremism. Talking to newsmen after the oath-taking ceremony of President Mamnoon Hussain, Senator Rasheed said that the political leadership is in complete consensus over the national issues. He said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan gave positive suggestions to nip the evil of terrorism. He noted that Sheikh Rasheed had won the election on a PTI ticket, therefore he was not invited to the APC, as the party’s chairman was already present for representation. The information minister said that it was a matter of satisfaction that all the political parties were on the same page on national security, dialogue with Taliban, lawlessness in Karachi and Balochistan. inp
