Pakistan to raise drone attacks issue at UN: FO
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has decided to raise the issue of US drone strikes in the country’s tribal areas in the United Nations.
During the weekly news briefing, Foreign Office spokesman Aizaz Chaudhry said preparations were underway to take the matter to the UN and all Pakistani missions had been alerted. Chaudhry added that the decision to approach the UN was taken during the All Parties Conference (APC).
Commenting on the situation in Syria, the spokesman said the Pakistan Embassy in Damascus was operational and ready to cope with any emergency.
Chaudhry informed the media that the governments of Pakistan and India were in contact over the meeting of the countries prime ministers at the UN General Assembly.
According to the spokesperson, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will travel to Turkey on September 16.
