No democratic govt ever let LB system function: Imran Khan
DI KHAN: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan Sunday claimed the PTI administration has come to transform the system and within days the framework for the new set up will be presented in the (provincial) assembly.
“No democratic government has ever let the local bodies (LB) system function,” Imran Khan regretted while addressing an election rally here in Tehsil Piyala.
He said that the elected members, who did not even have a bicycle in the past, now travel in Land Cruisers. While the nation is getting poorer and poorer, these people are getting richer and richer, he added.
The PTI chief pointed out that all other parties had repeatedly taken their turns at the helm and it has only been two-and-a-half months since his party was elected to power. “People will witness a visible difference in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other provinces in a matter of six months,” he maintained.
He said he had been stressing not to be a part of the US-led war on terror for the past 9 years and now the political parties across the board are endorsing his stance. “The time has come to get yourself free, as today all the parties of Pakistan are saying with once voice to pull out of the US war”.
Imran said the peace will be restored through the means of negotiations. The province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been most affected by the scourge of terrorism. “We will bring peace and prosperity to this province,” he promised.
