PM orders setting up of anti-terrorism force

LAHORE: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Saturday called for early formation of anti-terrorism force. Presiding over a meeting, the prime minister said that delay in establishment of this force was unacceptable. He directed the authorities concerned to keep him informed about the progress being made for the establishment of the force. The chief secretary and Punjab inspector general of police briefed the prime minister about initiatives being taken for the formation of force and its importance in the backdrop of recent surge in terrorist attacks. Later, another meeting was held to discuss condition of main roads in which Nawaz Sharif directed authorities to remove encroachments from Circular Road. Lahore Development Authority (LDA) and Traffic Engineering and Transport Planning Agency (TEPA) officials also attended the meeting. agencies
