Religious Ministry announces scholarship for minority students
ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has announced the Scholarship Programme 2013-14 for deserving students from the minority community studying in various government institutions of the country.
According to an official of the ministry, the aspirants of Hindu, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist and Mirzai community had been directed to submit their applications by October 14 to the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Green Trust Tower, Eighth Storey, Blue Area, Islamabad.
He said the regular students of the government-run educational institutions who secured at least 50 percent marks in the last examination had been declared as eligible for submitting applications.
He said the monthly income of the parents/guardians of school-level applicants must not exceed Rs 5,000 per month and the income of parents of students of higher classes should not cross Rs 10,000 per month.
Orphans, destitute and poor students, with good educational record, would be eligible for submitting applications for getting the scholarship, he added.
He said the heads of educational institutions where applicants were studying had been directed to check the veracity of their claim of monthly income. The attested mark sheets, progress reports must be attached with the application forms. The mark sheet on plain paper would be rejected, he added.
The application must be submitted through the heads of schools, colleges or universities along with a cover letter. The students already getting scholarships from any other source would not be eligible for submitting the application.
The students must attach attested copies of computerised national identity cards (CNIC) or form-B, email address and phone number. The application forms can be downloaded from www.ppra.org.pk. app
