‘KESC be nationalised’
Staff Report
KARACHI: Acting Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Professor Nizamuddin Memon has demanded the government to nationalise the KESC, and appoint honest and competent officers in the institution.
In a statement issued on Sunday, he said the government should evolve an effective strategy to resolve the issues of over-billing and power outage.
Memon said services of KESC were exemplary upon its establishment, but now, the institution is full of corruption, nepotism, and incompetence. “Industries are on the verge of collapse due to load-shedding, and the citizens also suffer from outages for several hours,” he said.
He said the prime minister should announce nationalization of KESC, as soon as possible.
