Ephedrine case: 7 including brother of PML-N MNA arrested
ISLAMABAD: Following the rejection of bail pleas by Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) arrested seven accused including, Basit Abbasi, brother of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MNA Hanif Abbasi, in Ephedrine case, Geo News reported.
ANF director legal Colonel (retd) Akhtar Abbas told Geo News that two-member bench comprising Justice Aijaz Ahmed and Justice Farrukh Irfan rejected the bail pleas of the accused.
Abdul Rehman, Abdul Wasay and M Sajid had already been sent to jail as their bail pleas were also rejected, while Basit Ali, Ahmed Bilal, Chaudhary M Rafique, Asif Chaudhary, Hamid Raza, Sirajuddin and Abuzar Faizi were also taken into custody after rejection of the pleas.
Another accused in ephedrine case, colonel (retd) Tahir ul Wadood Lahoti could not be arrested as he had not appeared before the court.
