CJ stresses speedy, transparent justice
LAHORE: Supreme Court Chief Justice, Iftikahr Muhammad Chaudhry on Saturday said that justice could not be termed justice without conducting transparent and timely hearing.
Speaking at the Fair Trial Conference, the CJ said that Islam stressed importance of dispensation of justice as no society could service without it.
He said that justice was the most significant interest of the human being, adding that protection of people’s rights was a mean to safeguard colours of the universe.
The chief justice said that as per International Document for Civil and Political Rights, all human being were equal before courts.
He said that the Fair Trial Law was enforced to prevent secret and other law enforcement agencies from using their powers illegally.
Justice Chaudhry said that National Judicial Policy was introduced in Pakistan to improve justice system in the country.
He said that several measures were taken to expedite process of providing justice as well as to provide accused with right of fair trial.
