5th Lahore International Children’s Film Festival concludes
LAHORE: More than 15,000 children, youth, families, teachers and film enthusiasts attended the 5th Lahore International Children Films Festival, which concluded on Saturday.
The festival ran for 6 days with 3 morning shows and 2 evening shows daily. It was organised jointly by Punjab government and city district government Lahore.
The festival screened 94 films from 27 countries this year.
It was an international competition this year and the jury included Asghar Nadeem Syed, Samar Minallah, Nisar Malik, Imran Babur and Armughan Hassan. The students of various private schools such as the Beaconhouse School System, Lahore Grammar School, Lahore American School, Army Public School and College, Froebel’s, Roots International, Salamat ICAS, SISA, The National School, Educators and Allied School attended the festival.
A conscious effort was made to make the event accessible to organisations working with marginalised children. Children from all walks of life participated, including out-of-school children, children with mental and physical disabilities.
Organisations such as The Rising Sun, SOS Village, Pakistan Education Foundation, Door of Awareness, Lahore Language and Speech Centre, Peechan, Sanjan Nagar, Al-Mashal Foundation, Fountain House Lahore, Hamza Foundation, Child Care Foundation and Special Education and Training Centre participated in the festival.
Young people from nearly 15 universities and colleges made the event not only possible but also a success through volunteer work. pr
