PM leaves for New York to attend General Assembly session

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Sunday left for New York to attend the United Nation General Assembly’s session. Speaking at Chaklala airbase before leaving the country, he said Pakistan is a peaceful nation and wants peace in the region. He said his discussions with global leaders would focus on strengthening economic and trade relations. The prime minister will address the General Assembly session on September 27 to highlight Pakistan’s foreign policy guidelines and its point of view on various regional and international issues. During his weeklong stay in New York, Nawaz will hold bilateral meetings with world leaders and attend various events, including meetings on millennium development goals, sustainable development and nuclear disarmament. app
