Flood a big test for nation: CM Shahbaz

JHANG: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has directed the administration to make an all out efforts to rescue flood affected persons. He made these remarks during a vist to flood-hit areas of Athara Hazari tehsil at Trimu Headworks.
He said: “I have asked the administration to remain busy at rescue operation and do not waste time in my protocol”.
He said the irrigation department officials were bound to brief him about the flood situation in the area. The DCO and the Secretary Irrigation briefed him about the flood situation and expected losses in the district.
The level of water was 300,000 cusecs at Trimu Headworks and water level was increasing. Talking to the media, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that it was a big test for the nation and appealed to villagers to leave their homes for their safety.
He said the PML-N government would stand by the flood-hit people and serve them speedily. He said relief and rehabilitation of flood affected people would be the top priority of the government
