PTI suspends talks till release of workers

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has suspended talks until the arrested workers of the party are released.

During a news conference alongside PTI leaders Arif Alivi and Shafqat Mahmood, Jehangir Tarin said talks had been suspended because of state terrorism and the political jirga had been informed.
In response to a question, Tarin said they were willing to follow the law as long as the government took a proper legal course. “We will resist any illegal steps of the government.”

Tarin added that the provincial government of Shahbaz Sharif did not listen to the recommendations of the commission following the last floods.

Over 200 workers of the PTI and Pakistan Awami Tehreek have been arrested after section 144 was imposed in the federal capital. Over 100 of these workers have been sent on judicial remand.
